i shot a katera on a 27 in. draw on 70lbs with a easton lightspeed 500 and got 306 fps.

Aren't you a bit underspined with the 500 arrow? Those babies are only 6.5gr. per inch of arrow and you should be shooting at least a 350 gr. total weight arrow out of that Katera @ 70#.
