Last year I had two of the Hoyt Vulcans which is a lot like the Katera, 6'' brace.
Got the Katera XL, preferred the higher brace, and longer ATA, now have two (Gotta have backup).
I've owned 18 different bows over the past 12 years and the Katera XLis the best.

I went from a ViperTec that I loved, then to the Trykon which was good, still liked my ViperTec as well. Now got a Katera and its like both bows Iloved packed into 1.

IMO Hoyt has the butt ugliest bows on the market, that riser uuuugghhhhh[:@] When I stopped looking at it and shot it (at the shop ownwers insistance) I fell in love. He had me shoot it along with a DXT, a Truth 2 and a 737. It was definately the best of the bunch.

I did not test fire one but I did hold it and it seemed a tad on the heavy side for me. The Allegiance is a pretty sweet bow at 295 fps with speed mods and a normal hunting setup!

I never thought I would own a Hoyt. To make a long story short I fired every dang Matthews, PSE, Bowtech, Diamond and was leaning toward an Ally or Guardian when I was forced into shooting a Katera. I picked it up and shot three arrows, looked at the thing for a second and new I was now a Hoyt man.

My 80# Katera shipped from the factory today!

Here is what I am getting out of my new Katera at 82.2# and 28" draw.

403gr. arrow@ 309-311fps
428gr. arrow@ 303-305fps

This is with a Trophy Taker Drop Away rest and the new Easton Axis ST Nano's with Blazer vanes.

Racewayking- to bad you are still using that work excuse to get yourself out of shooting with all of us this weekend. I was looking forward to seeing the new beast!

MECHDOC can tell you all about it, he shot a few arrows through it today. Don't be surprised if he gets one in the near future;)
