Forgiving bow for wife?
My wife wants to go bow hunting with me this fall. She's practicing in the back yard with a Bear Jr. set at 24" and40#. With her birthday in September I'm gonna get her a 50# bow for whitetail. I've got a wife, 3 kids, 2 hungry hunting dogs, and only one paycheck, so it has to be a bargain (maybe used?). Any recommendations on a good quality bow that is forgiving for a new shooter that comes in 50# with24" draw?

After watching our sons grow up as archers, my wife finally asked if I'd get her a bow. Fittingly, I got her a Diamond for Christmas - The Edge. It's an amazing bow, I'd recommend it for any woman. The speed is very impressive, even at only 35#. And accurate, and forgiving - so much so, that she insists I take her to the indoor range twice a week to feed her new-found habit, a habit that's fueled by obvious success.
Her "first target" is stuck to the side of the fridge: once the sight was set, she put 9 shots in the 3" white and 25 total in a 6" circle - from 20 yards.
I was so impressed that I promptly sold my Mathews Switchback XT and bought myself a Marquis.

I bought my wife a new mathews igntion last yearvery nice bow.She has a new mathews mustang now.I paid 300 for the igntion traded it in and got 270 for it. The resale is alot better on a mathews than a bowtech or diamond.

similar situation here, i bought my wife a bowtech diamond edge, perfect size for her and about $300 and change at gander mtn.the best thing is you can adjust the draw yourself so if she decides to stop hunting you can set it up for the kids yourself
