Default bowtech General

Thinking of upgrading to the new general, but not sure about the speed. I shoot 65lbs, but at the shop I was shooting only a 50 to 60lb at 61lb and it was by far the smoothest bow i have ever used. What will the diff. between 61lb or 65lb for ibo? any help would be great.

If you shoot the same weight arrow 4# will cost you roughly 8 to 10fps. If you shoot an IBO legal weight arrow out of both the lose will be minimal. My General at 60# 28.5" draw with speed mods is shooting a 326 grain arrow at 285 fps. I could lose 26 grains on that arrow and still be legal.

And I'm currently shooting a 346 grain ACC arrow out of my General at 65 lbs at 288 fps. Back when I was heavy into ASA, we couldn't shoot our bows faster than 285. I used that same set up (back then) for hunting. A fast arrow, a very quiet hand shock bow, easy to fall in love with.

Back in the late 80's early 90's Rob, a lot of the guys that came into the shop shooting a28" draw couldn't make the 280 speed limit with a minimum IBOweight arrow

My how times change!

65# would be a325 grain arrow

60# would be a 300 grain arrow

Dealers are not allowed to sell Bowtechs online. If they do, they should be prepared to warrant the bow, and face consequences if caught. Most likely if your buying one on line, it's not from a dealer and you won't get the warranty with it.
