RE: BOWTECH... NEVER AGAIN !!

I agree with the guys saying you shouldn't have taken the bow out of the place in the condition it was in the first place. My dealer gave me a new bow out of the box, checked overeverything and had me shoot it for about an hour before leaving the shop to make sure everything was in great shape. Sounds like you dealer screwed you andyou allowed him to by leaving with the bow in the condition it was in. Was the bow new out of the box when he handed it to you? Where there any accessories already on it or did it look like it was fired before you shot it?

When he got toadding spacers shortly after that to fix a brand new bow you should have told him you wanted it replaced. If he saw that when you bought it he should have replaced it instead of even making you go through the warranty department. He also shouldn't have did repair work on a brand new bow.

I bet you even bought your Hoyt off of him after that too? The dealer is more to blame in this than Bowtech and you allowed him to dupe you and now you are ripping on the company.

It's your right to vent but make sure you vent in the right direction. You should be complaining about the dealer selling you a bow in that shape. He could have a history with Bowtech of returning bows like this and that may explain your treatment.

Bowtechreplaced my bow when I had a cam rubbing issue in a week. Each time I've called customer service they've been very friendly and helpful. They have a good relationship with my dealer and it showed in how they treated me. The only thing they said they would not do was ship the bow directly to me.

Yes, there are some minor issues with the bow that I had to work out myself. However, it's not as bad as having to go to a split yoke system or something like that to correct cam lean on Hoyts or the problem with the cams lobe tearing the heck out of the serving on the Matthews. Both are great companies and I'm not knocking them. Just stating what I've heard and seen with both manufacturers.

Just my $2.00 worth.

Robin Woods,

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you've experienced.

If you'll please forward me your dealer's name and location, I'll try to get to the bottom of this and see what has happened here i.e. dealer/distributor issue or a probleminternally.

Please e-mail the info at
[email protected]

Regards, Pat

Sorry to hear about you bad exprerience. It looks like BowTech Shooter may be able to clear things up for you.
I have luckily never had to deal with any issues on any of my bows except an AR I had once that had a limb split. Took some time, but they gave me a brand new bow. Not too bad.
Usually, my pro shop makes everything good. Never had any issues w/ my Mathews though! :)
I have never owned a Bowtech, but here all nice things. My buddy has a Justice & Tribute and loves them. No problems... yet! I hope everything works out for you.

RE: BOWTECH... NEVER AGAIN !!

Man, I've had the complete opposite experience. I had to replace the strings and cables on my pro 38 dually. Only problem was that the specs weren't listed in their guide. Kinsey's called bowtech who couldn't find the specs either. Apparently the pro 38 dually was actually a limited run prototype for the following years black night. Bowtech then went directly to the lead designer of the bow who checked his specs for string and cable length and sent them directly to the dealer. I was extremely pleased and surprised that bowtech went to such measures just to get the string length for me. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience but I tend to agree with the others in that it may have rested more on the shop than bowtech. Who's to say that bowtech wasn't correct in their dry firing claim. I've seen many people dry fire bows in shops by accident and put them right back on the rack. Sometimes the dealer doesn't notice and other times they ignore it and sell the bow anyway figuring that when the next person comes along and buys it they'll let the warranty take care of it.

RE: BOWTECH... NEVER AGAIN !!

After reading all this the conclusion is obvious:

This is a dealer/pro-shop problem.
Your pro-shop did not take care of you and it sounds like
he has some bad history or problems with Bowtech.

I hope you got your Hoyt from a different establishment.

P.S. You don't send a letter to upper managment directly, you keep calling the numbers and ask to speak to the person in charge and work your way up that way. Of course, that doesn't necessarily pardon a lack of response.

RE: BOWTECH... NEVER AGAIN !!

Ive heard horror stories for just about every bow manufacturer out there, from deffects to performance issues to costumer service problems. If the bow you purchased wasdeffected at time of purchase, the dealer should take it back for a full refund, or bowtechshould fix it and have it shooting the way it should. It may take a little temper and throwing a bit of a hissy fit but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get what you want. I promise you that the last thing a dealer or manufacturer wants these days is to loose business.

The whole story is not being told here I suspect. There's 3 places where the blame lies if this is a factual story, you, the dealer,or Bowtec. It would just totally shock me to see anyone from Bowtec act in the manner you described. I have never ever heard of anything even remotly approching this from Bowtec. That's my story and I'm sticking to it;).
