Default Blazer Vanes or short vanes in general??

what do you guys think about the new wave of shorter vanes for hunting?? They seem to be getting shorter and shorter. What are the advantages and disadvantages? I'm shooting a WB rest and ahve always shot 4" vanesand think shorter would reduce drag. But how short is too short? I've saw 2" blazer vanes the other day. I'd think that shorter wouldn't steer the arrow as well. What do you guys think???

shorter yes but higher profile and stiffer then a regular vane . thats what guides the arrow. only thing that flys a B/h as good as a blazer IMO is a 4 inch feather.

As I destroy vanes on my current arrows I'm replacing them with 2" blazers. I think they are better than 4" vanes, alot more durable, not a problem with accuracy, haven't damaged one as of yet. Haven't tried feathers, may try experimenting later on. Thats one of the things I like about bow hunting, I like to tinker with different things, sometimes thats good, sometime not so good, but still lots of fun.

I love them... They shoot like darts now...
I was very reluctant to switch to them... but I am very glad I did.

I am actually picking up some Blazers today. Do most of you set them up using straight or helical alignment?
