RE: PROS AND CONS ABOUT SPITFIRES

They did a job on my turkey too. I've never used em on a deer though. I'm trying to decide between slick tricks, spitfires, and magnus stingers for my Illinois trip.

John, I'd about give an eye tooth to take a cat like that with my bow... It would make an absolutely beautiful mount.

It would have, except for the 3 inch entrance and exit hole the spitfire left.My fur guy woln't take my fox hides anymore cause of them wicked things.

Pros for me would be the gapping exit hole and the blood trail if needed. I also don't worry about accidently hitting the broadhead razors on my bow string.

Cons for me is that the blades aren't very durable and even if you wanted to change them it is more time then it is worth. But Iknow guys that get a new bow every year or every other so what is a few bucks for a new pack.

All in all I like them and use them on whitetail and bear.

High quality materials like everything else NAP makes butI don't like them because I feel they do not open fast enough & they require a bit more force to open than others. In my opinion NAP makes better mechanicals than the Spitfire. Of course I havn't shot one in a long time. Hopefully they improved them.

All pros, no cons. I love em.

Both pics are showing entrance holes. Everything I have got with spitfires, the blades opened upon entrance.

:eek:It has been proven that mech.heads that have their blades retained by a rubber band or O-ring,,tend to open faster.I'm thinking the Scorpian could be the bestchoice. Not too huge a cut,,very sharp tip,and NAP blades.:)

I shoot the spitfire 125 never had a failed open. massive blood trails my opinion very humane. echoing what was said earlier never shot one twice with same blades. this year is the first time i replaced the blades i have been buying new pack every year, first one was a trick but after that no prob...

Massive holes and short blood trails. They work great for me.
