beiter sent me a proto-type serving tool. its virtually the same except the knobs used for tightening are stainless steel instead of plastic. they are like large custom nuts and provide good grip and easy tightening. i burnt thru 3 sets of knobs on 3 serving tools in 6 months because of the abuse i put them thru. they also sent me about 8 sets of new outfitted knobs. thanks beiter. you make the best serving tool out there for ease of use, smoothness, and consistency. with the new materials for serving with no spectra we have to serve tighter than ever, putting extreme wear on our tools, and i'm glad beiter is jumping on it and updating their tools to take the abuse.

i've served with pretty much all the tools and beiter is by far the best.

sure would like to get my hands on a $3700 apple pro machine server though.
