RE: POLL: CARBON OR ALUMINUM

i started with aluminum and switched to carbon (ICS 400). i only shot the carbons one season and switched back to aluminum.
i get better penetration with aluminum.

Carbon for hunting for me, combo for target competition.

RE: POLL: CARBON OR ALUMINUM

Not even a question here its Carbon all the way. No reason to shoot aluminum anymore, Carbons are so much better in about 90% of the situations AL will be a thing of the past.

RE: POLL: CARBON OR ALUMINUM

Anything with aluminum in it....matrix, acc or xx78 for me. I have been shooting aluminum 2514's for 5 years and am still using most of the originals. Not seeing the bending, but I have broke a few hitting a brick wall. That same wall broke my ICS hunters, too. I just like heavier arrows and I also like practicing at super long ranges. I think that aluminums are straighter, and more consistant in spine, because they have always grouped better at longer ranges. If I was going to shoot 35 yards and in for hunting, as well as target practice, I may think about all carbon. Also, I can pick up a dozen aluminums for less than 40 bucks, if I shop sales. Sometimes even better. I picked up beman matrix shafts, carbon and aliminum, for 60 bucks a dozen on close out.4 dozen to be exact.I also still have 2 dozen of my original 3 dz 2514 shafts that I bought 4 years ago. (One arrow has been through 3 hogs.)I am set for YEARS. I really dont see this bending thing with the heavier aluminum arrows. Now, if I were a speed freak and worried about a super flat trajectory...that would be another thing.
