POLL: CARBON OR ALUMINUM

RE: POLL: CARBON OR ALUMINUM
Carbon positives: faster arrow flight, more durable. Negatives: much more expensive, components specific to arrow manufacturer and the big one, arrow failure on release or impact with game. Aluminums: closer tolerance in straightness, less expensive, little chance of arrow failure on release. Negatives: they can be bent or dented and are not as fast at the same draw weight as carbons. My opinion: carbons for 3-D, aluminums for hunting and target.

Aluminum all the way! [8D] Easton XX75's have been around for decades and are still going strong. I still shoot "flying tire irons" -#2315's with a 125gr tip. My old bow will cop an attitude if I try shooting a carbon arrow!

either....anymore the shaft dosn't mean much to me. alll around I woudl have to say the ACC is the shaft I like the best but it is also the most expensive. I like CX shafts & XX78's are hard to beat in general. Shoot what mathes your style of shooting & the one that matches your needs the best. If you shoot 20 yards or less all the time at deer & bear then a good old XX78 would be hard to beat, all around ACC's are a good bet & if you shoot out to long distances then the CX shafts are a great option.
Good luck & as you can guess neither shaft is always the best shaft. It all just depends.

Carbon here as well. I switched several years ago and have yet to see a reason to go back to aluminums. Durability is their biggest selling point in my case. The extra speed and penetration are just typically a bonus.
