I shoot a 75 grain rocket mini blaster. One and three quater inch cut.If I went to a larger 125 or 100 grain broadhead my arrow would slow down and I would not be shooting 285fps anymore.Heavier doesn't mean more penatration.Goes back to kenetic energy.Speed can make up alot.I have also found that small broadheads fly very well.I guess it goes back to what you like.

Wow....Hmmm. Where to start.
Generally yes, heavier will mean more penetration..to a point of diminishing returns.

Kinetic energy isn't nearly as effective at determining penetration as momentum is.

All speed makes up for is poor yardage judging

(PS...I shot those same heads last year)

I shoot a 31" 295 grain arrow at 389fps and my slick tricks out perform every other broadhead made. And yes I tested them all! I shot a bull elk through the shoulder blades at 67 yards and the arrow passed clean through and stuck half way through a red oak 30 yards behind the bull. Proof is in the venison fellas! You can't do that with your grandmas satellite's. Bottom line is slick tricks are magical and don't pertain to all the math mumbojumbo or physics mamajamma(what's that?) maybe chemistry though?!?!?.

LOL!!!! Slick Trick Fanatics Union.... Slick Trick Fans United....

I like my 125gr Slick Tricks. But then I like my 125gr Magnus Stingers. I can't choose one over the other, so I'll use them both. Sort of like a best of both worlds kind of logic.

Hit like a Mack truck with bone crushing accuracy ----> Slick Tricks.
Slicelike a fine surgical scalpel with incredible accuracy to boot ----> Magnus Stingers.

Very interesting

I believe there is some "bull" in there somewhere...

Man this is a hot Thread...lol

Oh has anyone thought of reviewing this site http://www.huntinfo.com/product/slicktrick.php

I like my spitfires, but I'm also open minded about others. I've placed an order to see what all the polemic debate of these broadheads are before I make any sound
assessments
thereof.

I've had the pleasure to review each post of this particular thread and know a few of the members. I know there are many broadheads on the market and the funny thing is I would swear about them spitfires!! but as many stated IMO so I'll keep it at that til my heads arrive.

Oh! wait then again I can go down and shoot butch's...they are 125 gr..lol

LOL!!! That's right... Come one down and try one of the Slick Tricks. They are nasty little buggers! The Slick Tricks hit the target with a loud "Whack!" sound at impact. The Magnus Stingers don't make the same loud sound at impact, but they slice and dice their way into the target and darn near penetrateall the way through! I have never seen anything as sharp as Stingers.... I mean they are just downright evil!
