Default What do yall do with stingrays that are shot?

I was offered a stingray bow fishing hunt for a Cameron Parish, La. marsh duck hunt... What is done with all the stingrays after shot? I haven't heard of eating them... Are they eatable???

Never tried it but I hear it's pretty good.Here's some recipes if ya happen to arrow a few

To think of all of the big stingrays that we catch in fouche, la. at our camp and let go... Sounds like fun.... Thatnks for the site for recipes...

A lot of seafood restaurants punch out chunks of stingray with a PVC pipe and sell it as scallops. Saves them a lot of money and most folks don't have any clue they're being fooled.

Just cut the wings off and rinse off the slime. Then bake them like any other filet. The skin is easier to take off after they cook, but if you like you can remove it first. Some people actually make triangle cuts in the wings and filet them out, but I have found it much easier to just slice the wings off. You will feel the spot to slice. If you get too close to the body you will start cutting guts. If you lay them on a sandy soil or lawn and let the knife go down into the dirt as you cut the wing off it will be much easier than trying it on a table. Trust me. I clean 20 or 30 of these a night sometimes on ym charters. Best of luck!
