Yes, it's legal. I don't know the specifics. Maybe I can get Ðe§perado™ to come online and help you out. He's the OH state rep for the Bowfishing Association of America.

There are AMS Retriever mounts for crossbows, but I'm not sure on the rules regarding their use in OH.
I have to agree that Desperado is definitely the guy to talk to for Ohio bowfishing.

Bowfishing for carp, gar, drum, dogfish,buffalo suckers, suckers, frogs, turtles is legal. You can use a compound, recurve, longbow and a crossbow for bowfishing in ohio. I noticed you didn't put where your located, may I ask where you are at in ohio? Maybe we could hook up and shoot.
