Default I got a couple Questions

I have a question to ask. Imwant to try bowfishing but i dont want to spend alot of money to start out. i was wondering if using a whisker biscuit (not the bowfishing one), would that work?and do you have any suggestions on some equipment to start out.

Thanks your opinions are greatly appreciated!

Don't think so. Would be to easy for the line to catch on the wisker biscuit rest. What I useis the most simple rest I could find. Itis cheap to. All it has isa simple little shelf for the arrow to sit on. The rest has a plastic bolt molded into it to screw onto my bow and a plastic nut to adjust the rest left to right. Don't need much of a rest.

As far as rest go. remove what ever type of rest is on the bow. Go to the hardware store and buy a I-bolt. It will slide through the Rest hole in bow. The threads are different so it will not screw in. Just use a washer and nut on the other side. Also it is a good Idea to take some epoxy or JB Weld and fill in the small grove where the loop touches the bolt. That will prevent the line from catching. It is a good cheap rest. The arrow will not fall of and supports the arrow well. Most rest are way too soft to full support a solid fishing arrow. good luck..johnny .b
Copied that from another thread.

The rest that i use is called an epoxy rest, you get some plumber's epoxy,it comes in a plastic tube about 8 inches long.the base and harder are all in one.you cut off about 2 inches and nead into a ball, like you do with clay, until you have a dark gray color.but first remove paint from your riser and ruff it up with sand paper, and then clean it with acetone or something like that.when you get the epoxy ready use your arrow to make a trough, put some vaseoline on the arrow so it will not stick to the epoxy.move your arrow back and forth until it makes the trough you like.your working time is about 10 minutes.then it will get as hard as a brick.you can sand and file to fine tune it the way you want.i have this rest on all my 10 bows.no line hang ups what so ever.

you all have a blessed day,Steve

You can also use Quick Steel. Sounds like about the same thing.

Yeah, since the slides keep the string out front, you can use them with any rest. Not so with other methods of line attachment.

I've seen a simple flipper rest work OK, and shooting off the shelf is quite popular.

The regular hunting whisker biscuit won't work. The fiberglass arrow is too heavy for the whiskers.
