Wow what a fish from Lake Erie
A state record 54 lb carp was taken out of horseshoe pond area. Broke the record by more than 2 lbs. The fish measured 49 inches long. Well if you live even close to Erie you're probably getting the same weather. Windy, rainy, and cold. Which makes the lake pretty choppy. But before the wind came they were having some success just east of the Bay and in the Hammermill Cribs area. Smallmouth weighing 5 - 7 lbs have been brought in. Lake Trout have been active north and west of the North East marina in about 60 feet of water. Rough water conditions have made walleye fishing a little slow but perch are stilling hitting off and on especially in the bay area. Since it is to rough for the boat how about trying Elk Creek, Small mouth bass seem to be abundant, steelhead are still being spotted in the holes and some stocked brown trout are still in there.

Thanks for the report Green Roof Inn.
Do you know if the carp was a common carp or a grass carp?
I heard a big grassy was shot in Erie recently and I'm wondering if this is the same fish?
