Default Decent kitchen knives.

A friend of mine just had a custom set of steak knives made from overseas. While they are awesome, I am not in a position to spend $1000.00 plus for steak knives. However after using them I am wanting something better than the 20 year old $10.00 walmart special block of knives I have been using. Curious what some of you experts would recommend in the $100.00-$200.00 range for a decent set of kitchen knives.

Miracle Blade 18 piece set with block . Sharper than sharp . I only have the 8 piece steak knife set and they are super sharp . Goes through a steak like butter .
I cant imagine any of the other knives in the set being any different . $105 on Amazon

After much back and forth I ended up getting this set of steak knifes. I decided with the knives I already had I wouldn't need most of the knives in a full kitchen set. I have had them for a couple weeks and so far am very impressed. They are razor sharp and if the reviews and factory info on the blade/steel is accurate they should hold an edge good.

That is super expensive for Chinese made steak knives. You could buy Henkel 4 Star knives for that kinda cash. Made in Germany

I went to a few stores and handles a few different knives. Almost all the ones in this price range were stamped and not forged and just felt light and flimsy compared to these. Time will tell but so far I really like these.

Looks like an impressive set. I looked at the price for an individual paring knife ($60). About the going rate for good knives.

Just FYI if anyone is looking at a good set of steak knives, the ones I bought have been marked down 100.00 and are now only 149.00 for the set of 6.

I use cheap walmart steak knives and use the money I saved on better quality steaks that I can cut with butter knives.

I've had a cheap set since I got married back in 2001. Now that I have a good set I realized what I was missing.
