I went to walmart today, and as i was walking up to where the BP stuff is I couldnt beleive my eyes pyrodex pellets for $15.97 woo hoo!!!, but then i looked again and that price was only for 45/50's, 50/50's were $21.97. I just dont understand why the heck they would have such price difference..... its the same amount of powder 50 grain pellets...... I was kinda irritated about this and tryed to get the 50/50's for the same price though the guy in sporting goods agreed it was odd that there was such a difference in price his manager would not overide the price owell just weird thought id share it with you all.

.50 caliber pellets sell a lot better because of the popularity of the caliber compared to the .45 caliber pellets. Our Wal Mart was talking about not even stocking any pellets because at the end of every year they always have quite a bit left on the shelves.
Since our local Wal Mart is a very tiny store compared to most, they have to move the Black Powder stuff off the shelves so they can get the fishing stuff out. Perhaps once they build the Super Wal Mart like they are planning, we will get more stuff in the different sections that will stay on the shelf and maybe even become bargins...

That's exactly the reason I was given for our super Wally not having very much for BP besides Pyrodex™ and cleaning patches anymore . They sell only what sells consistantly .

Every year less & less Wallys continue to carry muzzleloading properties. The powder price is high because they require all powder insurances to be paid by the powder consumer/purchaser.
Years ago, Wally would keep the powder price low & pass the insurance costs of it onto ALL SHOPPERS coming into the store..... not anymore!... that's why powder prices are so high at just about all Wallys.

You guys got it cheaper over there. At the wally here it was $30 for a box of 50 cal pellets so I ended up getting some from scheels for $24 which is the cheapest I can find around here. I have noticed the quantity of hunting supplies decrease every year and they never have what I need so I just don't go there anymore.
