Hey bidder bidder... I got 3,3,3,3,3,now 4.... 4,4,4,4.... Do I have 5???Where will it all end?
Soon there will be limits put on muzzloaders. Things have gotten so out of control. I remember back when Iowa first started a muzzloader season. They started the season primarily as a primitive weapon season. To fill a niche between bow and regular shotgun. It was a good idea. If they had said sidelock, percussion, fixed sights, and either roundball or conicals only. It would have been fine with me. Then along came old Tony Knight and challenged everything with his MK85 inline. Even that was ok. But now, you have modern muzzloaders that shoot more accurately and longer range than the Slugguns can. Mount a good scope on there and you can make 200 yd. shots with relative ease. I just think that the whole thing has gotten away from the original intention and sooner or later, there will be some restrictions coming. Either they will change the season and make it more like the shotgun season, or they will cut back on how efficient you can be with a muzzloader. They could just as well ok crossbows for the regular archery season then. It would be no different. I guess the point I'm trying to make here, is that I doubt very seriously that muzzloaders would have been developed to the point that they are now, if it weren't for being able to "take advantage" of the hunting seasons. It's not like they said, lets see how far we can advance the efficiency of a muzzloader, then suddenly said, "Hey, lets try hunting with it now". It was more like, lets see how far we can push the envelope and still be legal to hunt with during muzzloader season. Yeah, I own a Knight Revolution. It's an awesome weapon. I just don't know if it's what I want to hunt deer with though. I have a Lyman GPR and a TC Whitemountain carbine. They are both sidehammers with iron sights. I get satisfaction out of shooting them. When I shoot the Revolution, I feel like I have "cheated" somehow. I bought it thinking how cool it would be to shoot accurately out to 150 yds. or so. Then, after shooting it, it didn't seem so cool anymore. I guess I just like the old time stuff better.

The numbers that the folks at Ultimate Firearms have been throwing for years, have been proved time and time again, not to be true. Cecil Epps of Precision Rifle Bullets had one to test not so long ago, and he stated " quote:
The sample gun they sent me fell about 350 fps short of the claims. The 4 or 5th pellet almost set my entire bush on fire. Someone should really take that guy to the cleaners. To date, I have not talked to one owner whose chrono read the same as Johnson's. Personally, I have chronoed 4 pellets SLOWER that 3. Oh well

Ultimate Firearms has been blowing this same smoke, up shooters rear-ends for years now, and seems no end in sight.

like my dad always said, the best part of thier product is thier advertising[:@]
viking hunter i agree with you, i've got a black diamond and an encore, but in all honesty if they changed our m/l'er season to stricly side-hammers or flints i'd still participate, actually sounds like fun. but as long as the inlines are legal i wont be putting the odds more in the deers favor for now

I will be posting MY findings on a BP Xpress in the near future. I have heard all the "nay-sayers" and decided to find out for myself. The $1500 was hard to let go of because I have a Knight Disc rifle that I am really fond of, but IF these guns will do what they say, it should be worth it. I have talked to a couple of "regular" guys that have them and love them. I only hope I haven't "flushed" $1500 on false advertising. Wish me luck.

Yep made right here in Michigan.
Sure, it's a wildcat & exotic design and there may be some folks that find benefit with a longer range capable ML. Who I don't know but there may be some. Folks that want the longer range capability or are restricted from using centerfires and wish for longer ranges. Some folks would also prefer a custom rifle.
Hey, if I had cash to toss around I might want one!
It's not that far out or difficult to over-build a weapon to allow powder charges beyond 150 BP.
4 Pellets are equivelant to 170gr black powder. So the power capability is not that far over the 150gr Magnum ML's.
The testing claim to 125K breech PSI is impressive. I'd be curious to see the test details.
If it floats your boat then it's made right here in the usa.
