Default ML accesories

How about making a list of accesories that us beginners will need to buy.

This is some that I can think of. I am sure I forgot some.

Black powder rifle supplies

DECIDE ON THE KIND OF POWDER

• Pyrodex
• Triple Se7en
• Goex
• Black Mag3
• American Pioneer Powder
• - loose or pellet

TOOLS NEEDED

• See through powder measure
• Cleaning jag
• Cleaning mop
• Patch worm
• Bore brush
• Short starter
• Capper/de-capper
• Loading jag for the projectile
• Nipple pick

CLEANING SUPPLIES
• Isopropyl alcohol 91%
• Car windshield washer fluid
• Bore butter or lube
• Gun Oil – Birchwood Casey Sheath, REM OIL, Breakfree CLP
• Q-tip safety swabs
• Cleaning Patches
• Bore Solvents
1. Birchwood Casey Bore Scrubber
2. Butch’s Bore Shine
3. M.A.P. – Murphy’s oil soap, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide

PROJECTILES

• Sabots for the caliber of rifle
• Bullets to match sabots according to the diameter of the bullet
• Conicals
• Roundball and patch

Primers or cap or flints will also have to be purchased depending on the kind of rifle you get. If you're shooting flints you might want to make or buy some knapping tools.... For 209 primers, I like Winchester. For #11 caps I like CCI magnums or Dynamite Noble. Flints I like Black English or Amber French flints.

You can make your own swab liquid out of the car windshield washer fluid and isopropyl alcohol. Mix it 50/50 or straight alcohol for sidelocks. You will also need the alcohol to swab the barrel clean of oils before you load and shoot for the first time......

Poster Cayugad hopefully kept that post in his Favorites folder for future askings.... nice job Cayugad.

The only things I can add are safety pins for cleaning nipple holes at the range & paper clip for 209 breechplugs. You should own a 2nd ramrod too, One for the 'hollow-ended" jag for loading bullet ... one for bore brush while swabbing. You'll also need some CVA Breechplug & Nipple Grease for plug/nipple threads & may need to throw away the provided breechplug removal tool & replace it with a socket, wrench & extention.

The only I might add is a possibles bag to carry all your gear in. Might also buy a powder horn and adjustable measure.

The above accessories is very detailed and a good reference.
I would also add:
-pair of small needle nose multi-pliers (e.g. Leatherman)
-multi-allen wrench set
-Multi-Screwdriver Set
-Brass Bore Guide for range rods (protects the muzzle)
-Speedloaders for your powder type (Loose or Pellet)
-Collapsible range rod (Like from XS Sight Systems or CVA)
-Main Box for all off the stuff (like a larger plastic tackle or tool box) (I leave this in the vehicle)
-A shoulder sling hunting pouch for your essentials (I carry most of the following depending on how far from the "Main Box" I am)= Small plastic box to house loose items listed), nipple/breach plug tool or wrench, Charged loaders, primers/caps in a loading tool, nipple pick, (small ziplock bags with about 30 dry, 10 alcohol, 10 lubed patches), Collapsible range rod).

Funny thing about muzzleloading... all of the gadgets and gizmo's that you end up with.
I'm still adding nit noids.
