Default Bagged two today

Took both of my muzzle loader deer today. Just before dark several does came up on a hayfield and stayed long enough for me to nail two of them. Our muzzle loader season is all antlerless deer. I have the old TC woods rifle (pre Black Diamond). 300 grain XTP with two Pyrdex pellets. Both shots past through at about 100 yards. Got one tag left for rifle. I hope to fill that one tomorrow. Its to cold to hunt much longer and its supposed to get colder in a few days. It was 20 below zero yesterday morning and 15 below this morning.

Congratulations on the deer. What kind of penetration did you get with the 300 grain XTP's? I am guessing you did not get pass through? How far did they run after being hit? I am using a 240 grain XTP in one inline but did not get the oppertunity to test it this year....

Both were pass throughs. One droped at the shot. I hit it through the top of the neck just ahead of the shoulders. The other one ran about 30 yards then folded up like a wet rag. That one was hit just above the vitals but got a litttle of lungs.
