have a black diamond .50 cal. ,seems shooting it is burning the bottom of my scope, hoping someone might have an answer to saving the burning on the bottom of my scope from getting worse

Another cheap way of protecting the scope is take some black electrical tape and cover the scope with it. The fowling will wipe right off that plastic tape. Once the tape starts to get too worn, peel it off and put some new on....

best way to go is a cover as mentioned, i have a black diamond and the scope is a bit cooked on it also. the 209 nipple system on it seem to have a bit more blow back than #11's also primer fouling is alot worse with 209's

Either change to a weak 209 primer like CCI regulars or switch to a musket/#11 cap that comes with the rifle. You don't need 209 ignition with inlines anyways. Hotter nipples/hotter #11 caps are available everywhere.

I had a Black Diamond a while back, had the same problem. I tried the T/C scope cover, it helped some but the front base and ring and the little bit of scope it didn't cover still got scorched and caked with crud. I was only using CCI musket caps also. Also tried the T/C breech cover and it was basically useless for scope protection, the front of it would raise up when the gun was fired allowing blowback out. The breech cover works for keeping moisture out of the breech area though. I finally solved my problem by just trading the Black Diamond for an Omega. No more scope burning problems now!
