I use 'em. I love 'em. Start with your thumb, shoot 8-10 loads without swabbing. Good groups to 100 yards. What's not to love? Oh Yea, the price. I bought a box of 50 Buffalo Ball-ets, 270 grain to use as an alternative, for target plinking fun, for $3.00 tonight at Walmart. I will use the PB for hunting though. I shoot the 295gr. copper HP that you are talking about. I would think the heavier bullet would do better than the 245gr. at distances under 100 yards. I have not shot a deer with them yet, but I got good results at the range.

Eddie

Be more specific! Are yours lead or copper hollow-points?

Copper Powerbelt HPs are the top performer (expand/penetrate) on game in the Powerbelt lineup.. the lead ones are the worst (fragment).... the aero-tips in-between (unreliable expansion). Really no need to change anything switching from 245 to 295s. The drop averages 1/2" at 125 yards & 1" at 250.

I shoot the 295gr, copper aerotip Powerbelt as a follow up shot when elk hunting. Had to make a second shot this year. Powerbelt shot completely through chest cavity and went out the other side made a 1/2 inch hole going in and about a two inch hole going out. I think I will switch to the non-aerotip one for next year. First bullet is a Hornady 300gr. SST in a Harvester sabot (Missed one lung so had to do the second one on running elk)
