Default powder in the face?

ok this is my first year in the ML business and i have a question.i have a knight wolverine and have shot it several times and a few times i have felt something hit me in the faceafter firing(not a huge smack or nothing just a very little something)i was wandering if this was powder blowing back outh the nipple and getting around the bolt or what the deal is and if that is anything i need to worry about?maybe something wrong with gun?i dont wanna lose an eye!

Well it's possible you are getting some blowback in the face. That's why manufacturers suggest wearing safety glasses. The yellow ones do real well while hunting too. I'd still wear them, but I have to have glasses to see any distance now.

I have the same rifle and never had that problem. You might be getting some blow back through the nipple, and what your feeling is a small piece of the nipple it self. Wear shooting glasses.

I really am surprised that this is happening, with the bolt sliding forward to strike the nipple I would think anything blowing back would move upward instead of backward. Perhaps you have a scope.

Let us know if you discover what it is that is hitting you..... thanks.

I would venture to say that the Wolverine you're using is not 209.... not plastic disc insert. I would also venture to say that you are facing southwest while practicing. I will again-also venture to say that you are using RWS Dynamit Nobel Cheddites caps (red container).

Well... how close did I get?
