I spent the day at the range yesterday shooting my muzzleloader and wound up burning up my supply of .50 cal. 50 grain pellets. I called Cabelas today to order some more and they told me they won't deliver them to NJ. I then called the local sport shop and was told they were out of them and that 777 will be replacing pyrodex and they wont be carrying it anymore! I'm all sighted in for pyrodex pellets! Will the 777 shoot differently? and is anybody else having problems getting Pyrodex. This is probably just another reason to hate this Godforsaken state.

The 777 pellets are engineered to duplicate the level of the Pyro pellets. So you probably won't see much more than a 1/2" change in your point of impact on target.
It's pretty easy to get either where I'm at, but since it's hunting season - I can see why supplies might be short in some areas. Personally I shoot loose powder anyway...............but if you want to talk about hard to get........try getting some true black powder - No ONE around me carries it. [:@]

shoot noone carries real blackpowder anymore tomany restrictions on the stuff most folks feel its to big of a hassle to carry it. probably has something to do with the fact that BP substitutes are considered combustables and real black powder is considered an explosive.

I'd say it has to do with NJ is the toughest state to have guns in. Toughest place to reload in. And hunting is not encouraged. Sounds to me like a drive to Hamburg, PA to cabelas, or down to MD to bass pro. They got pyrodex everywhere.
I suggest next year trying the 777. It works great and I won't be turnign back to pyrodex. Except loose pyrodex.

Thanks guys. My intentions are to work up a load for next year with 777 or a loose substitute. I just thought it's too late in the game to start messing around with different loads. I'm shooting 3" groups @ 100 yds with 150 gr. of pyro. pellets and a Swift A-Frame out of my Knight Disc.
Thanksa again!!
