Default Leuy QR Mounts

Doing some realigning in my gun safe. A very interested buyer in one of my CF's wants my B&L 4200 which currently resides on top of my ML. I have a Vari X III 3.5x10x50 that sits largely unused on top of a 270win, been thinking I could move over the leuy to the ML being it would then see more than paper duty. If I make the deal the rings and mounts will move to the CF he is buying, which would leave me in the need for new mounting for the ML.

Ok to my question:
Any thoughts/experiences on the Leupold QR System? Does it work to hold POI when removing & over time(all I buy is 2 piece leuy's dovetails b/c they hold and never have to think twice about POI once I have her dialed in!)? Thinking being the ritual of cleaning ML's it just might be the ticket.

Thanks

I have no personal experience with them but I have read a number of different posts that claim they return to within 1/2 inch or better of the original point of aim each time. That's not bad for 100 yard settings. I am thinking of updating scopes and rings and intend to put those on the next rifle for sure....

Skeeter,
I had the Leupold QR rings and bases on a Black Diamond and they worked as advertised. They held the point of aim and lock down securely. The ease of cleaning makes them worth the price alone. I traded that gun for an Omega and now have the QR's on it also. I wouldn't consider anything but quick release mounts for a ML after using them!

Ditto no change in POI

What else are you selling Skeeter? They're the only way to go when you bathe your gun and I think they look nice and nearly custom. Don't forget to wash the underside of the scope while you have it off the ML if you have a bolt action type gun.

Thanks guys you've convinced me this is the way to go.

soonershooter, nothing else right now. The gun I mentioned was a Win Mod 70 chambered in a .308 win, I picked it up last year as project for the winter and finished it this spring.
