how many shots do you get from a pound of BP.....im shooting 90gr loads most of the time if theres a scientifical mathmatical way to figure it out......just wondering....im going to buy some soon and want enough to last me the season.......my last can i didnt keep track and when i went shooting with my friend to teach me the ropes he actually spilled some..cant remember how much but some was spilled.....thanx alot

thanx alot....i knew there had to be a scientifical mathmatical way to do it.......now....to decide one can or 2.........i should probably go with 2 just incase the guy runs out....does goex BP have a shelf life or anything?? i wouldnt keep it very long.....if i bought it in a week or 2 id use it by next fall.......will it be good?? thanx

Keep the black powder in the original container in a dry place and it should keep for as long as your going to need it. My friend has some black powder that is over 20 years old and it still shoots fine......

If you have a scale, I would take your 90 gr. measurement from your powder measure and weight it then divide it into 7000. Since you are measuring volumetrically instead of by weight, a same volume of ffg probably weighs differently than fffg.
Then if you are like me, subtract about 5 % for spillage.

haha it doesnt have to be EXZACT.....just ballpark.....just tryin to figure out what i need before the season is here and i go to load everything for the hunt and i have like one loading of BP left.......i want to start shooting the flinter alot and get really good with it....i want to leave the rifle on the rack this year and take the flinter.....i didnt think i could be that accurate with it...but at 40yds i had holes touching holes with patch and ball not cleaning not playing with loads....just sighting in to shoot groundhogs.......thanx alot....atleast i have a ballpark range....thats good enough for me.....
