Do you like the T/C Hawken patchboxes?

I wish T/C would have left off the patchbox on T/C Hawkens. Some of the old T/C's have really nice wood, and the patchbox isn't that attractive. I never use it anyway. What do you think?

I do not use the patchbox on my Hawkins either. I still like the patch box for the looks of the thing. Other then that there is really no use for it to me. I also have a Renegade with is a Hawkins without all the frills. That is my hunting rifle for them most part.

i love mine.......i redid my wood(older rifle but taken care of very well before i bought it) and its absolutely beautiful now.....they had 20coats of clear on it and thats it......it was a pain to remove and was chipping and turning white.....i refinished it with tru oil and now it looks great......and the brash patch box looks great on there.......just adds to the rifle and gives it a good look i like......all wood and you wouldnt beable to say its a hawken.....i like the looks of them......i dont use mine though......maybe ill start.....i dont shoot patch n ball or i would.....

On both my Hawkens I put a patch worm, a couple of patches and a paperclip to uses as a flash hole pick. Ever get dirt or snow down the barrel, moisten the patch with saliva, stick it on the worm, and clean it out. Takes up no extra room and is always there.
