Planning on getting a new ML this spring. I already have a T/C Hawken but I want to get an inline and scope it. I really like the look and feel of the Knight Disc Elite, Disc Extreme, T/C Omega and the Black Diamond XR. Any opinions and experiences with these ML's or others will be appreciated.

Well I was a sidelock shooter for 25 years. I finally broke down and got a T/C Black Diamond XR .50 caliber last week. I bought the T/C because I have had a T/C Renegade for over 20 years and it has never caused me any grief. I do not feel that the other rifles you mentioned would cause you any problems.
I can not tell you how impressed I am with the Black Diamond. I have shot a number of different sabots out of it already getting it sighted in and finding its sweet load. I also shot 370 grain T/C maxi ball conicals with suprising accuracy yesterday. The gun is well balanced, and even with loads in the 120 grain range is not uncomfortable to shoot.
Most of the rifles produced will give good service and accuracy. I even went and bought a Staghorn because I have enjoyed shooting the Black Diamond so much, I wanted another one. It should be here any day, so we have more to play with.

As of now I'd think strongly about the Savage 10ML-II. That'll be my next ML, and I have a feeling that once I start shooting smokeless powder, my other ML's are not going to see the light of day very often.
From what I've read about it I think that the Savage is probably the toughest, safest, most economical and certainly the cleanest ML on the market today.
Merry Christmas,
Mike

I have an Encore 209x50 - and it shoots very well ( 1.5-2" at 100 yards if I do my part ). I also likeI that fact that it is fairly short - and easy to clean. I have yet to get a deer with it - but around this area - bp hunting is kinda like walking into the Encore club ! Good luck with your new rifle!

Just to toss this in - most of the people I have seen that have problems with newer "in - lines" have had problems because the bores are typically tighter and require more cleaning and care between shots. I have seen several people at our local range who have great guns and cant get them to shoot - because they try to shoot 5 shots without cleaning and can't seat the bullet properly. For reference - I clean my Encore on the range every two shots ( just a wet patch and 2-3 dry ones )

I agree with 25mskeet in both posts. However, the Encore is an expensive option. I have the Omega and love it. I think the barrel must be similar to the Encore. It is 28 inches, 1 to 28 twist rate. Someone here will correct me if i'm wrong.
Anyway, T/C is a quality company producing awesome guns with great customer service.

All are good but I agree if I was buying a new ML I would seriously look at the Savage 10II MLSS. To me this gun has the most flexibilty and really is the cutting edge of inlines on the market today all at a very reasonable price in a many attractive oifferings. Up here this gun goes for less than the encore and close to others you mentioned.
I don't own one but am really thinking about getting one as I see nothing but positives with this offering.

VAhuntr,
I would have to go with skeeter 7MM and driftrider. The Savage 10MLSSII is state of the art. A beautiful rifle with lots of options. There's a post on the Savage on page two of this forum. Lots of good information with sites included. You could probably get one for around $375.00 if you go with the stainless steel barrel/black synthetic stock. I've been researching this rifle in wood laminate for the past month and have called over twenty shops. If you're willing to call around, you could probably get a much better price than the 375.00 I listed above. Then they could just ship it to you.
Also, I've read that a couple of guys here haven't had much luck with the factory scope (tasco trohpy, I think), but my buddy never touched his and shoots 2 inch groups @ 100yds right out of the box.
Good luck on finding a new ML,
Bn'R
