My hunting buddy talked me into trying blackpowder. Got a great deal on a used Knight LK-93 .50 cal. in excellent condition. It's equipped for No. 11 percussion caps. I've read (here and elsewhere) about No. 11 magnums, musket caps, and 209's. I've ordered a MML 209 Extreme conversion kit for the LK. I'm planning on scoping it and using 100 grs. Pyrodex pellets and saboted bullets, primarily for whitetails. Any issues I need to consider?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I HAVE THE KNIGHT BK-92 IN .50 CAL., HAD IT FOR YEARS. ALSO I USE THE CONVERSTION KIT FOR THE 209 PRIMERS, I ALSO USE 2 50gr. PYODEX PELLETS, AND I USE A KNIGHT RED HOT 250gr. SABOT, IT SHOOTS GREAT TOPPED OFF WITH A NIKON BUCKMASTER 3-9X40 SCOPE. JUST PUT SOME GREASE ON THE THREADS OF THE BREECH PLUG, AND ACTION.

I did the same thing and like the 209 primers mainly because they are less likely to get wet and are quite robust. Winchester primers fit well but CCI primers do not.

Loner,
Usual price I saw was about $52. Kits are being sold, new, on Ebay. I ordered mine through C&EJ's (www.cnejs-hunting-fishing.com). I'll let you know how I make out.
RA,
Two NY senators, one Mass. Somehow Kerry got left out of the mix...

Mass,
I put the 209 kit on my Wolverine, but I returned it, due to issues of the primer sticking and so forth. I was very unhappy with it. I exchanged it for the other 209 kit, with the Full Plastic Jackets, and it works awesome. Very easy to load, waterproof, and the primers come off easily. I got mine at Bass Pro Shops, I believe that it was around $60.
