Bullet Seating Question
This forum's been a great help. You guys have been gentle with this beginner and I appreciate it. I've seen some posts about marking the ramrod for proper seating. Any advice on proper seating would be a great help. Thanks.

RE: Bullet Seating Question
Proper seating of the bullet ensures that there is no air gap between powder and bullett. When you load the barrel with either powder or pellet, and you have the bullet firmly seated on the powder, you can mark your ram rod with a knife. You do this at the point where the ram rod and the end of the barrel meet. This way every time you reload, you will know the bullet is properly seated by checking the ram rod. I have done this as well and probably should be done once you determine the optium load and bullet type you are your gun like to shoot.

RE: Bullet Seating Question
Of course you must make sure we seat the projectile onto the load or real problems occur. Try and get the feel of seating the projectile with the same pressure as you do each and every time. If you want to get accurate, you have to get consistant. The same charge, the same patch, projectile, and barrel condition are all important as is seating the projectile the same way.
