Personally, i prefer the Lehigh NFPJ adapter to the Knight bare primer bolt. I have both. I find the adapter a bit easier to load the primer and if a primer should stick its simple to remove. Just recock the rifle and dry fire the spent primer again. Then it falls right out. The bare primer bolt is tighter around the part the holds the rim. If its sticks its a little more tedious to remove the primer. Both work very well when setup correctly. IdahoLewis has a good walk through video on shimming the plug if needed. None of mine needed it if i used long primers like a Win209. Short primers like a Rem STS will need to be shimmed. Its pretty simple to do.

Just remember, if you shim the primer pocket for a short primer and then use a longer primer....They will get VERY tight and hard to close the bolt. .003-.005 is a good crush range for primers with about .006 being absolute max. So if you set it up for say a [email protected] crush and then use a Win209 you will be close to .005-.006 crush.

I won't be doing anything with the shimming until I see how it is first. And knowing what primers I will be using. That is the problem during this shortage. Hopefully I can get a brick of primers and be set for a while.
