GM I stand corrected I had bored the flash hole out to .035" prior to putting the pocket in the face. I just pulled it and checked the flash hole after putting the pocket in and it is about .060"! Way too big. I used the same .060" bit and hand turned it in the back end of the BP below the primer pocket and it was filled with carbon. Once thru the carbon it went all the way thru the BP. I guess when I drilled out the pocket I cut deep enough to get to the larger section of the flash hole.
The BP on my 209x45 barrel already has the deeper cup in the face with the small flash hole (.030").
Looks like I'll be buying a new BP. Any idea what part number it is?

Sabotloader - I may just do that myself with the vent liner. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Sabot the only question I have is how long a 10-32 screw do you use? And I imagine you drill down through the center of that with an .030" or .035" bit???

New plugs are cheap as mentioned BUT........

If you want to tinker you can buy vent liners from Lehigh Defense or Badger Ridge Industries. The link i posted from Ron listed the tools needed to mod a OLD STYLE breech plug. Dont modify the current style or the flash channel gets really short.

Yeah I realized that when I started to tinker with my BP. Once I had drilled the face then drilled the .159" hole for the vent screw I didn't even bother drilling out the vent liner screws because I only had MAYBE 3/8" left of the flash hole. Not enough. I'll look into the Lehigh one but as much as I'll shoot this pistol I may just buy a TC one.
