Gm54-120, Thanks on the Lehigh Controlled Expansion 230gr. but brings another question from me because I don't know. I saw they make a 260gr., is that too heavy and would not fragment as well? If you were in my position would you use the Speer you suggested or the Lehigh? Sorry for repeated question.

230gr, 240gr and the 265gr Lehighs should all perform pretty much at the same speed. They are very well made bullets.

Gm54-120, At this time I believe I will try the either the 240gr or the 265 next fall. But, I also saw that Knight has Bloodlines that are Lehigh bullets of same construction, I believe. Are they another option for me at 100 gr. of pyrodex petlets?

Thanks

The bloodline is one of the best at that velocity the 230 is also very good at that velocity. with most bullets a bit more velocity is a big improvement.

just save yourself some time and get the 240 gr xtps and green harvester crush rib sabot, xtps shoot excellent with 2 pyro pellets and they kill deer very well.. that is the load I used to kill a bunch of deer back in the early to mid 90`s. And most Wolverines like this load.

Thanks Dbowling for the info. but on the advice of others I am trying the Barnes XPB 250 gr. first. If they do not shoot as I want perhaps I can try your bullet. I tried the Barnes xtp in 300 gr. and they didn't work so well.

I shoot 250 T/C Shockwaves and 100 grains by volume (approx. 74 grains by weight) of Blackhorn out of a T/C Encore. Have not lost a deer yet. Most run as far as they can in 10 seconds or so and expire.
