Default Knight Disc and Hornady SST' s

I have been shooting Knight 240 gr sabots with 100 gr of Pyrodex pellets out of my 50 cal Disc rifle with good results (2" groups at 100 yds). I know I probably should not try and fix something that is not exactly broken but I would like to see if I can get the gun to shoot better. I am going to try the Triple Seven FFFg powder and the Hornady SST bullet. I was going to try the 250 gr SST but I have been reading that guys are finding better results with heavier bullets out of the Knight rifles. My question is should I be trying the 300 gr SST instead of the 250 gr SST? With my current recipe with this gun I am getting about 5 inches of bullet drop from 100yds to 150 yds can I expect a little flatter shooting going to Triple Seven and the SST' s??

In the the last three Knight .50 calibers:

prbullet.com 40 / 50 220 grain and .44/50 300 grain Dead Centers have been the most accurate: 100 grains T 7 FFg loose powder.

I shoot 265 gr. Swift A-Frame hollow point sabots w/ 100 gr. of Pyrodex pellets out of my DISC and get 1 1/2" groups. I' ve been shooting this load for a few years now and find it to be quite good. I have no doubt the pattern would tighten up substantially if a more experienced shooter shot it

Well guys I purchased the Horandy XTP' s in both the 250gr and 300gr and the Triple seven FFFg powder. I am going to try the powder with many different grain measurements and with both bullets. I' ll let ya know how things turn out.

Ive shot barnes expanders behind 3 pyrodex pellets for years with great success on mule deer and antelope well past 200 yds. My disc rifle actually shoots these bullets better with 3 pellets. Keep experimenting and give us a report!
