I have to laugh when someone is talking about a load we all know will kick hard and says it isn't that bad. 200gr of powder and a 610 gr bullet will kick for anybody. They're just trying to be tough but aren't impressing anybody. I used to have a .458 mag that shot 500gr bullets. I was in my 20's and could handle the recoil ok, but I wasn't foolish enough to tell someone it doesn't kick hard. My first clue was it knocked my hat off the first time I shot it. I laughed it off but knew I had just been hit hard.

I know what you mean Pete. I shot my cousins 460 weatherby mag one time offhand. I knew it was going to wallop me so I pulled it in tight and relaxed my lower back muscles. When that beast went off it rotated my upper body about 90* which absorbed most of the recoil.
