Default Time to put the muzzleloader to work!

Ohio's muzzleloader season opens today. It's a nice warm -2 currently. Not sure how long I'll last but I plan on sticking it out for as long as possible. I'll be hunting off the back side of some ag fields hoping to get the deer moving for food. Season is open Today through Tuesday. Hope to get my first muzzleloader deer.

It was COLD today.

I lasted three hours before needing a break, then did some still hunting, which is my favorite way to hunt.

Didn't see any deer today. It's supposed to warm up a bit tomorrow. Hopefully the deer are moving.

It did feel good to be out with a muzzleloader though.

Can't still hunt when it's so cold the snow squeaks under foot and you can only see 60-70 yards. Besides its no use still hunting when you haven't seen a single track in the snow for over a week!

t.shaffer... I'll be out the rest of the season. Mostly in the afternoons... Hope they start moving!

We had a bad drought here and the deer migrated to the river and the lakes.
