Back into the swing of things with a Middle Tennessee 8 point
#1

It's been a long while since I've posted. Work and family have kept me busy to the point that hunting had taken a back seat but decided to get back into the swing of things this season. The rain finally moved on through last night and the temps dropped into the low 40's for this morning, so I got out with a buddy to a spot we had scouted just the other week. About 30 mins into good shooting light, this fella comes strolling down the hillside towards the oak flat. For Mid TN, a nice solid 8 point...16 inch inside spread....148 pounds field dressed. Shot was 40 yards, slightly quartering towards me using a CVA optima V2, 100 gr bh209, 250 Barnes TEZ. Hit him right at the base of the neck and exited just back of the far side shoulder. Anchored him right there. All in all, a great morning back in the woods.

My buddy saw a young 6 that he let walk and he bump a couple of what he thought we're does on the way in this morning. I think the cool down got them up and moving about.
