Default Want to change

I知 shooting 295 gr aerotip power belts over 2 50/50 Tripple 7 pellets. Out of CVA optima.

I知 finally almost out of the package of PBs and I want to switch. I picked up some TC Cheap Shots. My question is how far off do you guys think I値l be w the cheap shots? Will I be close enough at 50 yards to ethically hunt Sat?

In no way should you even try. First off, one is a saboted round while the other is a conical. Secondly there is a 55 grain difference in weight. 3rd the profile of the cheap shot is different. Never go hunt with a round that you have never fired from your rifle. There is absolutely no way to tell where it will hit even at 50 yards. You might not even be on paper. The pressures are different between conical and saboted bullets. Definitely take your rifle to the range and resight your rifle to the cheap shots. You will most likely be at least 2 inches higher if not a good bit more. And with the difference in rifling contact between sabot and conical you could be totally off the paper in windage.

Another thing to think about. Those cheap shots, if I remember correctly, are pure lead. Now with you only shooting 2 pellets you aren't pushing them all that hard but you still may want to avoid close range shots on the shoulder. I don't have one on hand to check the hardness of them but I think they are fairly soft. So if you have a shot on a deer from 10 to 40 yards, try to tuck it right behind the shoulder avoiding the thicker bone. I have heard they actually do a fairly good job bringing down whitetail but I have no first hand experience connecting with them. Good luck this weekend.
