Lol as long as he's enjoying and safe, more power to him. Just worries me with his fragile condition.

Well son of a gun. I recently watched Steve West shoot the #1 grizzly (muzzleloader) with his inferior CVA and a crappy 405 grain Powerbelt bullet. The largest grizzly ever taken with a muzzleloader and it was a bang flop. I guess he must have had those bullets especially made for him so they would hold together. Sorry - I just couldn't resist!

Duane Dunhams 28 1/2" skull Kodiak brown bear. Parker 300gr Match Hunter at 100 yards. Bullet passed through this big ole bear.

BTW in case you didn't notice, SOA is sponsored by Bergara

Oh yeah I noticed. And also CVA / Powerbelts.
I just thought I'd try and ruffle some feathers!

Uhhh so which one is the record book bear taken with muzzleloader? I know my math skills aren't that ridiculously great, but I have been under the impression since around kindergarten that 28 is bigger than 26? And Steve's was 26. Is it because Mr. Dunhams was a Kodiak?

West's was classified as a grizzly and hence beat the existing record for a mullzleloader taken griz by a full 3".
Not sure where Dunham's brown bear falls in the record book.
I ain't siding one way or another. Just stating facts.

Back in town. I'm ok. The tent thing really sucked with all the damn rain we've gotten. I was talking to a friend who offered his hunting cabin to me anytime I want it, except during hunting seasons. So, i'm going to take him up on it. At least i'll be out of the rain and it's way deep in the mountains with nobody around. At least i'll be dry.

May be that 405 has the same curve in trajectory as a rainbow? and with 150 grains of any decent powder it should kill on one end and cripple on the other
