i just went to the range today and shot 37 shots out of my encore and when i got home i had a real hard time getting my breechplug out but it finally came out. just wondering how many shots you guys have taken in one outing and if you had problems getting the breechplug out. and yes i had gorilla greese on the breechplug. i cleaned the barrel about every 2 shots with #13 bore cleaner at the range.

Yes, what JimboH stated about trying to get it out while the barrel is warm is great advice. Heat makes metal expand, the heat transfers to the greatest mass. The barrel with retain the heat longer than the breech plug. Thus the threads in the barrel will be expanded a bit longer than the breech plug. This expansion is ever so slight, but its probably just enough to make the task easier. On removing bigger objects, often a torch is used to heat the surrounding area and then ice is applied to the object to be removed. Heat expands the outer area and the ice contracts in object to be removed.

thanks for the tips about loosening the breechplug at the range. as far as the kind of powder i use, i use pyrodex pellets...100 grains. i actually took 1 shot yesterday with 150 grains just to feel it and see how it shot. at 50 yards it shot another inch higher but it kicked a hole lot more.
