That's a nice looking rifle. I just have a bad taste in my mouth regarding Traditions. Has their quality improved over the past 7 or so years? I had purchased a sidelock back about that time and after the first shot the front fiber optic shattered. A couple shots later adjusting the rear sight and snugging up the screw, the cheap plastic sight cracked! I was about ready to throw the darn thing over the bank into a stripping pit.

improved a lot over the past 3 years that I know of. The Vortex LDR and the Strikerfire are great muzzies.

I've got 4 of the Pursuit XLT's and I have had zero problems with them. I would think these rifles would be similar with a better coating, no?

that may be true but i love the nitride coating it's tough and i take care of my guns like just ask my wife she'll tell ya.i like the black but i also like s.s. so i get the best of both worlds ands it stands up to the occasional bump not that it happens to often. i had my white super safari that i built done in the nitride it was also s.s. but i love the black finish and so far it's a lot tougher than the black ice gun's that i own.

No need to oil the outside of the barrel is also a nice plus. Wipe it down with a wet rag, dry and you are done with BlackIce. I believe nitride is the same in this regard.

I have heard Frog Lube will stain nitride though. Not sure.
X2 on that one .

Not my cup of tea either but i thought it was interesting they jumped on the nitride bandwagon too.

Strange as it may seem, it is easier to find a Traditions (Ardesa) ML in Spain than it is a CVA/Bergara. One of the larger sites i found pretty much only had Traditions/Ardesa and Pedersoli. Not a single CVA/Bergara ML on the site.

it is illegal to own a muzzlelader in Germany unless it has been proofed. Since when did CVA start running there muzzies through a proof house and receive the proper marking on the barrel to verify that .
