Default Another Breech Plug thing !

A fellow i worked with got a couple of in lines from me. I'd say it was 6 years ago. Early last fall i talked to him and he tells me "I had to take both of them to a gunsmith, they would not go off !"
The smith had to drill the 209 primer channels out, these were plugged solid. "I didn't know you had to clean the breech plugs." he says????
I just wonder how many people really read their manuals,on the weapons that they buy? On the other hand,i think, how many of these folks actually clean a black powder gun the right way?

Before deer season every year i used to receive several rusty muzzleloaders that were not cleaned after the last deer season. i've stopped attempting to salvage neglected rusty guns.

I have little sympathy for those who don't clean their guns.

Your a better man than me then Pete. I have 0 sympathy for the idiots. It's just flat out laziness and stupidity not to take care of your firearms.

What a silly guy! The little hole in the breach plug is obvious. When you can't see through it it's a no brainer. Besides the extra powder and fouling residue modern inline muzzloader are very easy to clean and maintain. They have just a few parts that function very simply.
