No Agenda with me. Follow the manual with your muzzleloader for the safest results.

Using the 350gr bore lock would be following the manual. It's not a sabot, or it wouldn't be legal in Colorado.

I'm not stupid. I did my best to make you see both sides. Along the way I was giving you advice and links which you seemed to ignore.

I hope you have it worked out by now?

I don't know why CVA puts the restriction on sabots. The heavy PB don't blow the skirt when shot, and the 444gr PB's are fine to shoot. Lots of guys use the 405gr for elk with zero problems. I shot a bunch of 460gr NoExcuses bullets in my old MR with no problems.

Something is wrong with this picture.
Your missing the point. A powerbelt bullet is undersized. The gas check is over sized. When loading the powerbelt the skirt engraves the rifling not the bullet. So if something horrible happens like you leave your rod in your barrel and shoot it. The added weight of the rod up against your bullet, will create so much pressure when shot the skirt will blow and gas will leak around the bullet before it has a chance to obturate. Atleast a lot of the gas will escape hopefully and not blow the barrel. A saboted bullet is a lot tighter and won't leak gas as easy as a powerbelt will. If everything is done correctly. You have no problem shooting any powerbelt out of a CVA with a max loose powder load of 110grns by volume roughly. I could be 5grns off or so.

Your 100% correct. But I would not exceed a 300grn bullet in any CVA rifle unless your dropping your powders down around 80grns by volume or two pellets.

Just read and understand the manual and over time you'll figure it out.

It is a sabot in Idaho and Oregon - they are not full bore conicals.

And you are sure they are legal in CO.

One thing i do understand is that cva or knight doesnt want someone modding their plugs ad its a safety hazard for both parties. Could you agree with this grouse? Do either companies support modding breech plugs or would they rather folks use factory built.

Do center fire companies support reloads under their warranty?
