Those sidelock .54's are the workhorse of all muzzleloaders... they shoot great and hit hard! Kinda funny that you heard that buck drinking before you shot him. Friday eve when my wife shot her doe, I was hunting within 25 yards of the creek that passes through our property. Around 6:00 I heard something moving up the stream but couldn't see it. I could hear stones clacking and water gently splashing but just could not see what was doing it. Thinking it was a deer, I was on high alert... turns out it was a dang ol' Great Blue Heron wading and fishing for minnows!
