Haven't you ever see a chicken with its head cut off?
Oops, I see Slowburn already covered that one.

One animal that I always figured we killed dead then moved a lot were chickens. Cut their head off and they will really flop around. With no head I am sure the animal is dead, but they don't think so. Turkeys, shoot them in the head, and I am pretty sure they are dead, and they do a death flop that I got so worried about I jumped on them until they stopped.
I have seen rabbits twitch seconds after being shot. But that again is I believe muscle reflex. I have seen a dead deer move. But I think it was muscles relaxing. That or when they fell to the ground or when I moved them slightly the difference in the way they were situated on the ground changed enough to make a leg move slightly. I normally wrote that off to gravity or body settling. What I think from watching the end of the video was that is called death throws or last twitching. Yes technically the elk is not dead. That leg movement and mouth movement we call death throws. I have seen deer do that. But I always considered them DEAD right there. Do you "hunters" really think that elk was going to get back up or needed another shot?
Dead bodies moving is usually due to gas build up. And that's not something anyone that had to experience is something they care to remember. Once embalmed they stay pretty still.
What I find amusing is the fact that this is a topic that someone is really concerned about. I know its aimed at embarrassment to Mountain Devil and his video and statements.
I really don't find the time to trifle with such minor trivia. So have fun poking and arguing over these trivial points. Maybe next you can check spelling and sentence structure mistakes.

My uncle had shot a black bear up our camp many years ago. It dropped and was DRT. He waited a good while before going over to it. Did the usual poke in the eye and it didn't blink. Dead - right?
So he leaned his rifle against a nearby tree and rolled the big guy over onto its back. Took out his knife and started to dress him out. He must have hit a nerve or something because the rear leg kicked. his reaction was to toss his knife and reach for his rifle. He slipped and his calf came down on his bear blood soaked blade going in up to the hilt. The bear was dead. But my uncle spent the next 45 days in the hospital fighting off a nasty cut and infection.

I once thought a disagreement I had with my wife was dead, only to see it rise up and kick me three months later.

I didn't come up...... the corpses did.
One example:
Laid out in a suit and it was the day of the funeral. Plenty of mourners there for the service. Then out of the blue, sorta' upright occurred, right there inside the open casket.
I really don't care what / if you believe. I am so-used to saying that, being I have / had countless numbers of Mediumesque episodes in my life and very few believe in Mediums.
Guess that means I also won't be disclosing to you, what I know regarding earth-bound Spirits either. Too bad, for those stories turn most disbelievers into believers, seconds after Spirit visits them thru an interpreter...... that being me!

Yes I have had deer twitch on several occasions . came up behind one one time and poked it with my muzzle and got no reaction and then went to spread its legs to start the gutting process and they started twitching and flailing like crazy. Mind you this was probably witchin mins of coming down from my stand and walking over to the deer.
Here is a video of a deer twitching sometime after it was killed.
No one cares about the big horn sheep. God I love this video.

LOL I went for a ride once. Came up on a deer (I was still a youngin) that I THOUGHT was dead and like a true idiot (rookie) I go to straddle the deer to slit the throat. Well OOPS the damn thing didn't know it was dead yet! Up it came with my scrawny rear on it's back hanging on to it's antlers for deer life. (get the pun?
) Neither one of us went very far for it really was a good shot but as we all know as hunters that many deer are dead but they seem to not want to agree with that assessment! Needless to say I was one scared little boy, my dad, who witnessed the whole thing by the way, dang near peed himself he was laughing so hard! Said it was the absolute funniest thing he had ever witnessed in his entire life! I ever tell you folks my dad had a mean streak?
First time I ever cussed at my dad was that day! I think it made him laugh even harder!
Now, after that story, here's a little diddy for you guys, that elk was in death throws no doubt. There seemed to be no nervous system contact from MD's description as well as the pics and it seemed they went up to it fairly quick. I wouldn't expect it to be getting back up but it wasn't completely dead yet. Pretty simple explanation without the need of a "mediums" services
