Default Thankful I wasn't shooting alone....

Cool morning so headed for the range. One other shooter who was shooting a .308 rifle.

I verified the turret at 200, then at 400. The CDS turret isn't marked for 500yds, so I used the Strelok program and tablet.

The target below was shot at 500yds. Thankful Bill was there to witness and sign the target.

NOTE: Holes covered are .308

So when your buddies ask about how well your MUZZLELOADER shoots, you tell them it shoots approx 1/3 MOA out to 500yds.

Simply amazing, both the rifle and your shooting!

All I can say is, that is amazing shooting. When I first got into muzzleloading with the old Renegades and Hawken rifles, my friends and I were so happy with a three inch group at 100 yards, we grinned all day. Never did we dream someone would shoot 500 yards with that kind of accuracy.

Now I have read about civil war snipers doing similar feats of marksmanship and it always astounded me that they could pull that off. But to see someone shoot that kind of distance and with that kind of group, well that is amazing. Congratulations on a great day at the range. And just for your information, even with no witness, I would have believed your word.

Guess I'll be the butthead, but 3 shot group OUTSIDE of the 8 ring is still 3 misses! I guess you can say you missed consistently? (ducks and runs for cover giggling like a mad man)

No running necessary. I need a shooting coach though.......

Naaa, your spotter wasn't doing his/her job! Wasn't calling out for adjustment! Still was good grouping. That barrel is a good performer. Just need to get you a good spotter cuzz your shooting is fine. At 500 it's a little difficult to call your own shots from a muzzy. Even a smokeless one.

500 yards - 1 3/4" group! Priceless. Great shooting.

No spotter other than myself. The other guy was shooting his targets. Attempting to convince the CFO that I need a quality spotting scope. I just don't think the CFO will be happy about me wanting to spend that much money........

If your CFO is anything like my CFO then shiny objects to distract doesn't work so well. Mine kinda softens up a mite when I cook a nice dinner and give her a back rub. Your results may vary
