Default Bloodlines/Lehigh's

Anybody going to try the Bloodlines or Lehigh's for hunting this year? I think I am going to let the kids use the 245 CF and I am going to try the 215 cf in my 1:20 Knight or White. Should be a good antelope or deer bullet.

Ron's water jug test showed me the 245 CF's should perform well at lower load velocities so I am ordering a pack or 2 tomorrow to see if I can get them shooting accurately enough out of the Hawken (GM 1:28 Drop in) for the Daughter to smack a big old Doe.

SS what Sabot would you recommend with those? I have some Crush ribs that should fit well with the .452 size. Think those would work best or some MMP Blacks?

I'll probably try some 215's at some point this summer. Either those or the Dead Center 260's will be my hunting bullet in my super disc. That is my plan anyhow.

I'm gonna use the 245 in Colorado Elk hunting. Probably the 185 or 215 for Deer in PA and Ohio.

I got some 215 's in today. I am gonna try them out and see what happens accuracy wise.. Hopefully this will make a good speed goat bullet.

SShooter - I tried some today at the farm. I was pleasantly surprised. I had gone to the farm to shoot the new 185's. I really had no intention of shooting the 215's but just out of the blue I threw a couple in my pocket. Tom had already shot the 185's from his 1-20, so I decided to use my DISC Extreme 1-30...

After I shot a couple rounds of the 185's - I could not resist so I loaded up the 215's in the 1-30 and just shot a clear spot in the target - fully expecting the bullet to tumble through the target. It appears they shot fine at a 100 yards.

With all that said - really nothing conclusive can be said positively - but tomorrow morning I am going to repeat the test and shoot the bullets for accuracy.

BUT... speaking of the 215 - I am totally impressed with the appearance of the bullet. Dave may have outdone himself with this bullet. It is a ML rifle bullet that actually has the lines of a bullet that you might shoot from you centerfire rifle. Also look at the nose the HP is not near as wide open as the 185/200/230 series. This bullet MIGHT/COULD make a great long range shooter.

Hope to get a post up a little later about the shoot tis morning.

That's what i told Tom . The nose has a much smaller cavity which for me is better and the bullet fits the sabots much better . The 230 was a little long for the sabot . I am looking forward to seeing what range i can get and still maintain accuracy . At least hunting accuracy .

The new 215grn bullet needed weight added to the nose to stabilize and shoot accurately. That's why it looks more rifle like then the Bloodlines.

Lehigh doesn't reccomend the 215 in slower twist 45's!!!

I also think the 185" will be more accurate in the 1/30. I'm gonna get out a 1/30 this week and compare
