Default Happy 4th of July

I just wanted to wish all the forum members a HAPPY 4TH IF JULY. I hope your having some fun this weekend. Also keep in your prayers and thoughts all the men and women of the armed services that protect the freedoms we all have. They should never be taken for granted.

Stay safe, and keep your wits about you. Lots of things on this holiday out there that can hurt you and your loved ones.

Thanks Dave for your well wishes and your comment about our service men and women.

JohnMorris, yesterday I went to the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico Virginia. To say I was impressed is an understatement. What topped it off is I met Frank Matthews who works there or volunteers there. Frank is a survivor of Iwo Jima. You can look him up on Google. He had some stories to tell of his ordeal. I looked at him and wondered if I could have gone through what he did and still be sane.

Yes we need to give thanks for those guys who fought during WWII especially for those who gave all for us!

Same here guys. I lived 11 years overseas during my 26 yrs. in the USAF. The fourth was always highly thought of by my brothers and sisters in arms. I was surprised at the number of foreigners who knew of our celebration!! Only one time when I did't remember what I was doing on this date and that was in Viet Nam.

But to happier times, our fireworks got canceled because of a storm that came in at the last minute. Lot of history around me here in Virginia. I live just across the York River and the Yorktown Battle field. This is where the British surrender.
