Well maybe not that amazing
But they are kind of cool. I was digging around my old junk looking for a Lehigh breechplug. I didn't find one but I found some of my old orange discs with the 11 nipple inserts. I hadn't seen these in years. It is kind of nice to be able to shoot 209's or #11 caps without changing anything.

this is the orange disc with the nipple insert

this is what it looks like from the other side

this is with a #11 cap installed and ready to put in the gun.

inserted in the gun

bolt closed

After firing

The nipple inserts can be used over and over. The beauty of these were that you could load the discs with 209 or #11 primers and use whichever you wanted. No changing breechplugs or bolts or anything. Just throw in the orange disc with whichever you want. I imagine these are long obsolete but I got I pack left

I also got the 1:20 bedded

which is why I was looking for the Lehigh plug before I got distracted.
So maybe now I can get back on task.

You learn something every day. I didn't even know those things existed. That would be just the thing for shooting black powder in a Knight.
Nice picture presentation Sharpsshooter.

Most definitely easier than fooling with the caps in the field with my big old sausage fingers. Partly why I have never liked "bolt action" ML'ers. Having to use a caper/decaper tool is just one more thing to go wrong, get lost, or forgotten on the bench. No way I can get those caps on with my fingers.

An old hunting buddy of mine in Pa had a Knight (don't ask me which one it's been 13 years) bolt type, he had a capping tool that he used to decapp as well. Only dang way I could load the thing. I THINK he had plastic jackets on the caps. Not like those that SS is showing.
