Knight 1:20 PR 260 and Lehigh Penetrator

I decided to go and shoot a little. I haven't been able to get out for a while and it was nice out. Not much wind and the sun was even shining. It is suppose to rain the next three days so I figured this was my best chance.
I took the knight Disc 1:20 . I had put a Monarch 4x16 mildot on it . Don't ask me why:s1: It was taken off a different gun and I figured what the heck.
I took blackhorn and PR Dead Center 260's and headed to the pasture. I had just mounted the scope not to long ago and shot it one time but I didn't write anything down so I didn't remember where I was in the sighting in process.
I figured I would take a shot and that would refresh my memory once I see where it hit.

well after I got everything ready I realized that I had the breechplug for the red plastic jacket in it not the bare primer plug. Hmmm ,how could I forget that? So I went back to the house ,got some red plastic jackets and some triple 7 3 f. instead of Blackhorn

I took 2 shots and got this at 100 yards. Not bad. Very high but a good group

I used the mildot up and got this

That looked real good so I didn't adjust the scope just shot using the mildot

I took a third shot and while I was pleased I also messed up the group of course.

I saw a couple of them Penetrator bullet in the bag so I figured what the heck, lets see where they hit in comparison to the Dead centers

It was higher and left. but not to awful bad.

I took one more shot to see what the second one would do

Not quite as good as the dead centers but within MOA. They sure cut a cleaner hole I noticed. the Dead centers left a little more of a jagged egde than the penetrators.
All shooting was done with 90 gr triple 7 3f , Winchester primers off the hood of the truck

Penetrator shot higher indicating a better BC.

No they do not have a better BC than the Dead Centers but they do cause a different barrel harmonic (whip) which is probably the reason they were up a little bit.

That is the same bullet I sent you.

I know. I'm still trying to figure out the reason they're made that way?

I read up on them a little while back Pete. They are designed that way to create more hydraulic pressure for a more devastating wound channel. They are supposed to be "Non Expanding" so that makes for a deeper penetration. Freaking weird looking bullet for sure.

Sabotloader, according to the design crew, they actually DO fly better because of the wind channel created by the design. Hard to do a ballistic calculation on them based on olgive and Metplat and such with that design. Just have to do the speed verses trajectory and impact point.

Ah ok, I got it. Now we need some dead critters to see how they work.

hmmmm..Sabot, I wonder how well that puppy would perform out of my 26" 1:28 Pro Hunter barrel? That's a LOT of barrel to get it a twisting! Maybe kinda think you could hook me up with a few for testing? If they are already out then okie dokie I'll order me a few but if they aren't then another tester with that Howetzer barrel of mine with a good load of BH behind it :fighting0007: My hunting this year is screwed due to a fight with Gravity. As usual gravity won. Going to take a few surgeries to get back out in the hunt but there isn't much on this Earth that can keep me off the range!

Ok, I read everything Mike. We still need an apples to apples test to compare to the bullets we use now.

A penetration/destruction test for lets say Bloodline, XP, and Barnes. Same gun, time, and load.

Then we need a dead tough animal killed by the XP to look at.

We only have paper targets, and theory right now.

No bullet will out perform a Bloodline on game.:party0005:
